Review: Beautiful Savage by Victoria Ashley

JAXON KADE

Thirteen long years without Lex, and as if she was never gone, she walks back into my life, feisty and set on running from me. I refuse to let that happen. She’s my Lex. I’ve been in love with her since the age of nine. I lost her once, and you better believe that I will walk through the fires of Hell before losing her again. She’s set on pushing me away, afraid to show me how far down the path of destruction she has traveled but I’m making it my mission to piece her back together again and claim her as mine. It doesn’t matter if I have to destroy everything in my path that leads to her– I will. She’s not the only one who has changed with time. I’m rough, savage, and just as damaged as she is. But there’s one thing I’m capable of – always have been – and that is loving her.

ALEXANDRA ADAMS

I need medicine to escape this reality – the pills, drugs, and liquor aren’t even enough to numb the pain of my past. Years without Jax destroyed me – ruined me forever – and being back in his life will only ruin him the same. I never meant to find him again, and I sure as hell never meant to want him just as much as I did before we were ripped apart. It doesn’t matter that I need to stay away from him. It doesn’t matter that I fight to keep my distance. Jax refuses to let me go. My biggest fear is destroying the only person I’ve ever been capable of loving, but he’s not giving me any other choice…

Avery’s Thoughts About the Book

A Dark & Steamy Second Chance Romance

When I read Royal Savage, I initially thought Jax was the main character and was slightly disappointed when he wasn’t. I’m so glad he got his own book. Jax and Lex both have their own issues. Jax seems to have a bit of a white knight complex. From the time they were kids until they’re reunited years later, all he wants to do is take care of her. It’s a very sweet second chance romance story with piping hot steamy bits here and there.

I’m partial to well-told addiction stories and BEAUTIFUL SAVAGE is just that. Watching someone get clean is not always a pleasant process and Ashley did a great job touching on what it can be like to go through it. While still rough, the author took it easy on the character who went through it.

This is a pair that has undeniable chemistry from the moment to spot each other on the page. They fit together perfectly through the entire story. Alexandra could probably use a fair amount of couch time with a therapist from everything she’s been through but she’s super-resilient. I’d be curious to see the author’s inspiration for her hair because I’m thinking of dying mine and Lex’s sounds incredible.

It was fun seeing Blain again! His character is so much fun. The author has set the story up for him to have his book but this book came out in 2018 and I have no clue if the author plans to return to it. I hope so! I would love to see a Blaine book and a Mark book. Though, I’m not sure who I want to see Madison have her HEA with more…
